Where Lynn Stands

As your candidate for Senate, Lynn is committed to ensuring that state government fulfills its most basic promises: to preserve our ways of life, to protect our families, and to help all generations prosper.

I support protecting the integrity of our borders which is vital to ensuring the safety of the citizens of New Mexico and the country.  Our citizens expect their government to protect the freedoms and rights afforded to us in the constitution.   While much of that is the duty of the Federal Government, the State of New Mexico has a role in this and I will not back down on protecting your rights as citizens.
I urge all state and local law enforcement agencies to fully cooperate and support federal law enforcement efforts to secure our borders and prevent illegal entry, human trafficking, and drug transportation. I support all constitutional activities to detect terror threats and prevent terrorist attacks on the United States.

Our immigration policy needs to allow this country to protect its borders while allowing legal immigration and work permits for people who want to live and work in the United States of America and be a productive part of society.

I will continue to work toward finding solutions that provide robust resources to support and empower law enforcement to do their jobs safely and effectively and educate the public, while effectively controlling crime in New Mexico. I oppose any legislation that weakens the power of the laws on our books in prosecuting crime and not defending law-abiding citizens. I oppose any efforts to further legalize or decriminalize the recreational use of drugs.

I bring 12 years of experience in securing governmental funding from a variety of sources that bring support to grow our communities and strengthen their futures.  I have been referred to as the "Expert on Workforce Housing" because of my success in not only securing funding, but also ensuring plans are in place to be able to take advantage of funds and not let them be wasted by missing deadlines. These projects support our families who live and work in our areas.

Government must be financially fair, and not take taxpayers earnings to support its existence and growth without benefit to all.  Our New Mexico tax system should be fair, equitable and provide adequate funding for necessary government services without overburdening taxpayers and business with unnecessary regulations. Additionally, funds should be allocated equally and proportionally to all governed areas.

These policies should promote the private sector over government dependence, and reward job creation, and work not welfare. I support helping reverse those losses and regain our economic freedom by working with elected leaders who will promote legislation that will allow the American free-market system to thrive once again.

We support excellence in education through accountability, parental involvement, local control, and school choice. These are the keys that will allow our children to succeed and give them the ability to compete in a complex and changing world. We reject education policies that trap minorities, the disadvantaged, or any other child in a failing school. We reject policies that lower expectations and take away the rights of parents to choose the education they believe will be best for their children.

I support accessible healthcare for all New Mexico citizens and the preservation of healthcare benefits for the elderly. I support healthcare decisions which are made between you and your doctor, without government interference and encourage ]private sector, free-market solutions to our healthcare concerns.

I am committed to continuing my efforts in bringing better healthcare solutions in rural New Mexico.

We support the right to bear arms and believe that right shall not be infringed upon. The right to bear arms is the right that protects all of our other rights guaranteed to us. Our founders envisioned a country where the people were in control, not the government, and the Second Amendment helps preserve the sovereignty of the people. The Second Amendment enables law-abiding gun owners to protect themselves, their homes, their families and their freedom.

It is important to maintain all of New Mexico's natural resources through environmental conservation while also recognizing private property rights which includes state and federal land use. A clean environment, responsible development of our natural resources, and a robust economy are compatible. We must manage these responsibly while basing decisions on sound science and common sense.
